R R Institute of Technology established in the year 2008 under PKM Educational Trust is recognized by AICTE, New Delhi, approved by Govt. of Karnataka and is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU),Belagavi, Karnataka. The institute is located in a lush green 27 acres’ campus and is at a distance of 16 km from Bangalore City Railway Station. The Institute offers 6 UG courses leading to B.E. in CE,ME, EEE, ECE, CSE, ISE and also Research programs leading to M.Sc. Engg. (By Research) and Ph. D program of VTU, Belagavi. RRIT got accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council in the year 2018.

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established in the year 2008 from the inception of the college. The Department offers 4 years UG program in Electronics and Communication Engineering with an intake of 60. The course offers a deep insight into the design, development, manufacture and application of electronic devices, circuits and systems. Electronics and Communication Engineering lays greater emphasis on deep understanding of fundamental principles and state of the art knowledge about Electronic Devices and Circuits, Computer Architecture and Microprocessors, VLSI and Embedded systems, Electromagnetic Field Theory, Analog and Digital Communication, Digital Signal Processing, Microwave and Broadband Communications. The department has a fine blend team of qualified, highly experienced faculty and committed staff members to maintain its position of leadership in engineering and technology. The department is currently offering B.Tech program, and also has well equipped Research Centre.
